We raise Jacob sheep (the four horned ones that are black and white), this Feb. we had a bummer lamb that the mother abandoned right after giving birth. Hammy needed to go potty so I took him outside late at night and that is when I heard the lamb crying. The mother was off far away in the pasture and our llamas were standing near the lamb trying to protect it. We went out and got it and it was just in time. (Hammy saved her life, if I didn't take him out to potty, the lamb would have froze to death) She was nearly dead from heat loss. We took her inside and then I had to bottle feed her for two months. Hammy adopted her and always went outside with me to her pen in the pasture to stay with me when I bottle fed her at all hours of the day and night. They became good friends. We had to keep her in our yard during the day as the Ewes were mean to her to protect their own lambs. I named her Lammy so we had Hammy and Lammy. They played in the yard all day long when she was younger. Lammy followed Hammy everywhere and he had great fun chasing her and then she would chase him back. It was so cute. He always licked the milk foam off her mouth after she ate. She is now so much bigger than him, but he still chases after her and jumps up and bites at her ears. She loves him and tolerates it. The picture of them is from the end of Feb. and then the newer picture was taken just last weekend. You can see how much Hammy has grown since then. I thought you might like to share this story with your girls. Next event for Hammy will be neutering time soon Take care, I always check your website now and then, sorry to hear of the loss of Sugar. Hopefully you find her, if not, then pray a kind person found her and is giving her a good home. If the pictures don't show up on the email, just click on the jpg. and it can open that way. Take care and many thanks for such a sweet little doggy. Donna Dee |

I just wanted to give you an update on Stella, aka Lexi. She is absolutely stunning and her coat is coming in beautifully! She has just as much spunk as I thought she would and a personality to die for! She still has so much energy even at 8 months. I think it's just her personality. She loves LA and playing in the sand. I wanted to forward a few photos to you just so you can see how great she is. She was recently on the show Groomer Has It on Animal Planet. It's currently airing and if you want to catch a glimpse of her, they actually put her face as part of the opener. They loved how well mannered she was yet how much personality she showed. Her episode already aired but I was still so excited that they cast her as one of the dogs highlighted in the opener to every episode! I think it airs on saturday nights if you want to see. It's not a long shot but at the very end of the opener, she's on the right side of the screen with another dog on the left side. It's a close up of her face and she's the only black dog in the scene I believe. Thanks again for giving me my best friend. She truely is turning out to be gorgeous. She's getting some of her daddy's chocolate brown around the neck and her hind quarters are actually turning white as well though it's not a lot so it's looking silver. It's fun to see her coat come in. But the black is the shiniest brightest coat ever! Congrats on the new pups and it's sad to see momma retire! Cassie and Lexi |
